Immunity: Immunity is defined as our body’s defence against disease

Acquired immunity: Immunity obtained either from the development of antibodies in response to exposure to an antigen, as from vaccination or an attack of an infectious disease, or from the transmission of antibodies, as from mother to foetus through the placenta or the injection of antiserum.

Passive immunity: Artificially acquired passive immunity is a short-term immunization by the injection of antibodies, such as gamma globulin, that is not produced by the recipient’s cells. Naturally acquired passive immunity occurs during pregnancy, in which certain antibodies are passed from the maternal into the fatal bloodstream.

Antibodies: Antibodies are produced by lymphocytes on exposure to antigen/germs; these are specific to only one kind of antigen.
