PROPER NOUNS
- The Name of a PARTICULAR Person, Place, Animal or thing.
- Begins with a capital letter.
- PERSON – William
- PLACE – London
- ANIMAL – Tommy

COMMON NOUNS
- The Name of Any PERSON, PLACE, ANIMAL OR THING.
- Does not begin with a CAPITAL LETTER
- Also known as general nouns
- PERSON – boy
- PLACE – city
- ANIMAL – cat
- THING – Tv

COLLECTIVE NOUNS
- A collection or group of persons, places, animals or things.
- The word “COLLECTIVE” itself represents the collective noun.
- FLOCK OF BIRDS
- A CRICKET TEAM
- A FAMILY
- A HERD

COUNTABLE NOUNS
Countable Nouns are the names of the things which we can count. Eg-book, boy, sister, doctor.
Countable nouns have singular and plural forms
Example:
- A COW WAS ROAMING IN THE STREETS.
(ONE COW) - AN APPLE WAS KEPT IN THE BASKET.

UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS
Uncountable Nouns are the names of the things which we cannot count. Eg- milk, oil, sugar.
Uncountable nouns are used with a singular verb. They usually do not have a plural form.
Example:
- The happiness was unbelievable.
(HAPPINESS CANNOT BE MEASURED) - THE MILK WAS SPREAD ALL OVER THE FLOOR.

MATERIAL NOUNS
Material Nouns refer to materials or substances from which things are made, such as, gold, silver, copper, wood.
Example:
- This ring is made of gold and diamond.
- The phone is made of plastic and metal.
- The bat is made of wood from a tree.

ABSTRACT NOUN
- An abstract noun names a quality or an idea.
- A noun that refers to a thing that does not exist as a material object. (and has no physical substance that you can see or touch.
Example:
- for example: honesty, sleep,sickness, poverty, laughter.
- A brave soldier, a strong man, a beautiful flower.

CONCRETE NOUN
A concrete noun is a name for something which is tangible. This noun is called concrete noun because nouns in this class can be touched, seen, felt. It can be identified through one of the five senses.
Example:
- This ring is made of gold and diamond.
- The phone is made of plastic and metal.
- The bat is made of wood from a tree.
