**Plane figures:-**

Any shape that can be drawn on a plane is called a plane figure.

Plane shapes have two measurements like length and breadth and therefore they are called two dimensional shapes. Square, triangle and circle are two-dimensional shapes.

**Solid shapes:-**

Solid shapes have three measurements like length, breadth and height or depth. Hence, they are called three-dimensional shapes. A solid object occupies some space. Examples of 3D- shapes are Sphere, cylinder, cube, cone etc.
