**Introduction **

A triangle is a simple closed curve which is created by three line-segments.

- A triangle mainly consists three vertices, three sides and three angles.

**Properties **

- The sum of the interior angles of a triangle is always equals to 180o.
- The sum of the measure of any two sides of a triangle is always greater than the measure of the third side.
- An exterior angle of the triangle is equal to the sum of the interior opposite angles of the triangle.

**Types of Triangle Based on sides**

**Equilateral Triangle **

- All three sides are equal.
- Three angles are also equal.

**Isosceles Triangle **

- Have two equal sides and angles.
- The angles opposite to the equal sides measure the same.

**Scalene triangle**

- Have all the 3 unequal sides.
- The three angles will also be different.

**Type of Triangles Based on Angles**

**Acute angle Triangle**

All angles of the triangle are acute(<90 degree).

**Right-angle triangle**

A triangle whose one angle is 90 degree is called as Right angle triangle.

**Obtuse angle Triangle**

One angle of such triangle is greater than 90 degree (obtuse angle) and other two are acute.

**Medians of a Triangle**

Median is the line segment which made by joining any vertex of the triangle with the midpoint of its opposite side.

Median divides the side into two equal parts.

**Altitudes of a Triangle**

Altitude is the perpendicular drawn from a vertex of the triangle over its opposite side.

Altitude is the height if we take the opposite side as the base

Formula for area of triangle:

1/2 (base x height)
