Perimeter is the total length or outer distance covered along the boundary of a closed shape.

 

Area

The area is the total surface enclosed by a closed figure.

Where, ‘a’ is the length of each side.

 

Perimeter and Area of Rectangle

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l + b)

Area of rectangle = l × b

Area of a Parallelogram

Area of parallelogram = base × height

 

Triangle as Part of Rectangle

In the given figure, Area of each triangle = 1/2 (Area of the rectangle)

It is a simple closed curve.

 

Circumference 

It is a total path or total distance covered by the circle.

Circumference of a circle = 2×π×r

Area of a circle = π×r2,
